Sustained positive market trends indicate that h+h cologne 2014 will be a great success

Creating something of your own is very rewarding! And DIY is the major trend. This is also confirmed by the latest figures for h+h cologne, which will take place from 21 to 23 March 2014. To date, the level of stand rentals for the International Trade Fair for Creative Handicraft & Hobby Supplies is already significantly higher than was the case a year ago. In fact, over 70 per cent of the available space in Halls 5.1 and 5.2 has already been booked. In addition, in response to sustained positive market trends, all of the key players have already confirmed their participation at the world’s biggest trade fair for suppliers of fabrics for the home, yarn, sewing, embroidering and knitting machines, tapestry making and haberdashery products, as well as hobby and handicrafts supplies.

 

 

The trade fair is organized by Koelnmesse GmbH in cooperation with the Initiative Handarbeit e.V.
Given the sector’s optimism, the indications are extremely good for h+h cologne 2014. For example, a press release from the Initiative Handarbeit state the following: “Knitting is in. It’s trendy - the new yoga if you will.” What’s more, according to many exhibitors, young people often work on fresh and fashionable handicraftsthat are appropriate for the current season. For them, having their own unique look is more important than perfection. Additionally, sewing has become one of the favourite activities at children’s birthday parties.
Due to its unique range of trends and new products from market leaders and niche suppliers, the International Trade Fair for Creative Handicraft & Hobby Supplies 2014 will once again inspire trade dealers from around the world. As usual, the event will be rounded out by a multifaceted supporting programme. It will feature a large trend fashion show organised by members of the Initiative Handarbeit and a wide-ranging workshop programme sponsored by bit Verlag. The programme will be completed by special activities presented by a variety of institutions and artists.


The number of trade visitors to this year’s h+h cologne was up by 11 per cent to 12,587. A total of 321 suppliers came from 37 countries, representing a 16 per cent increase. The trade visitor survey 2013 also confirmed the trade fair’s status as an leading international business platform. For example, 86 per cent of trade visitors surveyed in Cologne claimed to have a significant influence when it came to purchasing decisions. Altogether 80 per cent said that they had placed orders on site during the fair or planned to place orders afterward. In terms of achieving their goals, 89 per cent of trade visitors said that they were either satisfied or very satisfied with the result of their visit.


h+h cologne 2014 will take place next year from 21 to 23 March.
